The Gambian president Yahya Jammeh, has dismissed Mrs Jainaba Bah Sambou, Solicitor General and Legal Secretary at the Attorney General's Chambers, Senegambia News has confirmed.

Jainaba Bah Sambou is married to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Harry Sambou. She is replaced by Pa Harry Jammeh.

According to sources close to the AG Chambers, Mrs Bah Sambou's dismissal came two weeks after she had allegedly petitioned the office of the president about what she called the 'outrageous' behavior of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Richard N. Chenge. In the petition, AG Chambers' sources said, Mrs Bah Sambou accused the Nigerian prosecutor of discriminating against his Gambian colleagues and prosecuting cases that lacked merit, among other things.

The petition came before the president at a time when Chenge failed to represent the state in court in protestation of non-payment of his allowances. The knucleheaded Nigerian prosecutor was briefly arrested and placed under invistigations, but released after the president's office believed Mrs Bah Sambou's petition was malicious and devoid of credibility.
