Fellow Gambian,
It is with a heavy heart that we send you this solemn email about a potential historic moment in our beloved country. As you are aware the elections will be on Thursday, 24th November, 2011. On this day Gambians will choose a direction that they would like the country to take. We hope their choice will be an emphatic NEW DIRECTION. We need to send Yahya Jammeh packing to run his business empire or become the best farmer as he claims he desires to be. The Gambian people have had enough of the Jammeh maladministration and many are wondering when all this will end. We hope it will all end on 24th November, 2011 after the votes are cast and counted.
We know some of you will be scared when you get an email like this but please don't panic. We understand your situation but with your help we can all make such emails totally acceptable in our society for there is nothing wrong with this email and similar ones. Only under the reign of a dictatorship are such emails a threat to ones personal safety. By voting Jammeh out we will take care of such problems once and for all. Please make sure you, your friends and family massively go out and the vote on election day and surely vote for UDP and its alliance partners to make the curse of Yahya Jammeh a thing of the past. We assure you that if Jammeh loses he WILL LEAVE! The will of the Gambian people will be respected whether he likes it or not. A Gambia without a Jammeh presidency will be good for all of us including your humble self. We all know the fear that we go through when we have to do anything; being careful at every step of the way not to run afoul of Yahya Jammeh and his henchmen. He has suffocated every aspect off our lives including business, social, and familial. Another five years of Yahya Jammeh makes the future for all of us bleaker.
Please vote massively and vote for the UDP Alliance to be part of the change beckoning Gambia; change that is knocking at the door; change that is surely coming; change that is inevitable. So be part of the change we all are yearning for. You can then tell your kids and grand kids that you were part of the brave Gambians who ushered in the much deserved change. Remember that you will be alone in the poling booth on election day. So, please do what is right for you and your family and all Gambians.
Please fell free to delete this email from your inbox in case you do not feel comfortable keeping it. We will understand.
Long Live Gambia!
