RE: The way forward for Democratic Change
Dear Modou Nyang,
Thank you for your published article of the 4th February 2010 through which you responded to UDP-UK’s rejoinder of 1st February 2010. However, I am disappointed about the nature of your response. Instead of addressing the issues raised in the rejoinder, you chose to go on a despicable tirade of attacking certain personalities within the UDP leadership on issues that have no relevance whatsoever to the subject matter in discussion.
I can understand that you might have been angered by the perceived attack on your political saint [Halifa Sallah] in the rejoinder, but you must also remember that this rejoinder was merely a response to a malicious and deceitful attack from Halifa himself, against the UDP. Not only are his figures wrong, the explanations he advanced in that article in respect of UDP’s failure in the 2006 presidential election are also utterly untrue. In that respect, I think UDP- UK has done a superb job in rebuking his [Halifa] deceitful and ludicrous claims. If Halifa had not made his absurd claims about the UDP, there would have been no rejoinder to his article. So instead of being angry, I think you should advice Halifa to stop attacking other opposition parties. Let him focus his attention on the APRC.

I have deliberately chosen not to address your specific points because I think they are too frivolous and vexatious. Your article itself, is too rambling and unintelligent. I hope UDP-UK will not respond to you.
Thanks,
Fatou Gaye, Bakoteh, The Gambia.
