Defense Lawyer Mai Fatty forms a political party to contest 2011 elections

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has today announced in a press release, the formation of a new political party in the Gambia ahead of 2011 general elections. Below is the release:

In accordance with Section 105 of Decree No. 78 of 1996, Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) has been registered as a bona fide political party in The Gambia.

The colour of the party is Red. The symbol is Eight White Stars, seven stars representing the seven regions of The Gambia and a star representing the unity of the people, the released said. 

The party’s motto is: People Power for Human Rights and Economic Justice. The party leader and national executive chairman is Barrister Mai NK Fatty.

Did G.M.C. won? I mean, how did the elections went? No hitch at all? I wonder what were the platforms of this party.
